New sales pricing experience in Business Central

Microsoft is rolling out a new way to manage pricing in Dynamics 365 Business Central, and will become standard in early 2026. The New Sales Pricing Experience replaces the legacy pricing and discounting model with a more flexible, user-friendly system built around price lists. At TVT, we’re helping clients prepare for the transition and unlock the benefits of smarter pricing management.

Key features of the new sales pricing experience

This new model introduces several improvements that make pricing easier to manage and more adaptable to your business needs:

  • Multiple price lists: Create tailored pricing for individual customers, customer groups, campaigns, resources, and G/L accounts.
  • Centralised management: View and manage all price and discount lists from one place in Business Central.
  • Easy activation/deactivation: Set price lists to active or inactive based on campaign dates or business needs.
  • Suggest lines: Automatically generate new price list lines for selected items, resources, or product types.
  • Copy lines: Quickly duplicate pricing structures across different price lists.
  • Pricing history: Track how prices have changed over time and understand the impact on sales.
  • Edit price lists directly in Excel: With the 2025 Wave 1 update, you can open sales price lists in Microsoft Excel, make bulk changes using familiar Excel tools, and publish updates straight back to Business Central. This streamlines complex pricing updates and reduces manual entry errors.

Timeline for adoption of the new sales pricing experience

The New Sales Pricing Experience has been available as an optional feature since 2020. Microsoft originally planned to deprecate the legacy pricing model in 2024, but this has been postponed to the 2025 Wave 1 Update. From 2026 Wave 1, the new pricing format will become the default for all SaaS users.

Important: The New Sales Pricing Experience only applies to customers using Business Central SaaS. On-premise users will not be affected until they migrate.
